Obtaining a visa
Depending on your nationality, you may or may not need a visa to come to France.
A visa gives you official permission to enter and remain in France for a defined period of time. It is granted to citizens of foreign countries by French consular authorities. It usually takes the form of an official sticker or stamp placed in your passport. It includes the following information:
- Issuing authority
- Date of issue
- Length of stay
- Length of validity (“From…Until…)
You are a citizen of a country in the European Union
You do not need a visa if you come from a country in the European Union (EU) or in the European Economic Area (EEA; i.e., Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway, and Switzerland). You have the right to freedom of movement and residence within the whole of the EU. To reside in France, you must simply possess a valid identity card or passport.
You are a citizen of a country outside the European Union
To understand what you would need to do to enter to France and work at INRAE, you must get in contact with French consular authorities in your home country. Depending on your nationality, as well as on the length and reason for your stay, you may or may not have to apply for a visa.
